A lot of heart & a little St. Kitts.

"Consider it pure joy, my brethren, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because the testing of your faith produces perseverance." - James 1:2-3

James is a powerful book.. For as short as it is, he sure did pack it full! When I first came to the Lord & was hit with my first real trial in my life, I remember coming across James 1:2-3 and clinging to those verses. Clinging to the knowledge that God wanted to grow me through them. He was bigger than what was going on in my finite world. Now, as I experience trials, they're different. There's a peace in knowing that my God, who loves me, is up to something. He's in control. I love that I can look back and see for myself His faithfulness and goodness. Through the darkest of times, He is the light that can't be extinguished. Sorry for the tangent, I just needed to share my heart right now. It's so full. Be encouraged - God loves you & is at work in your storm! "For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all." - 2 Corinthians 4:17.
These last couple of weeks have absolutely FLOWN by. Time is going so fast and I can not believe I've been here over a month! I have grown so comfortable, settled into daily routine (for the most part - no guarantees here), and I LOVE the people here! Going home may end up being harder than I thought - but I won't have to worry about that for a while. Our Wednesday night Bible studies have been amazing. God is without a doubt showing up & moving in this group. Sunday nights have gone back to women's Bible study & we're going through James. It's such a sweet time with an incredible group of women, all willing to share honestly & edify one another. AWANA was cancelled last Saturday because they were painting the church, but we're looking forward to next week. Brandon & his dad have been hard at work on a pinewood derby track for a future AWANA event that's sure to be biiiiig crazy fun! The Fort Wayne group gets here in 2 weeks (woohoo!) and will be here to help with the derby. We're definitely excited to have that group here to help, while enjoying the island some! Last Saturday a group of CCF girls including myself went to see Les Mis at the St. Kitts movie theatre - HIGHLY recommend! It is long, but it's so so so well done & full of talent. This coming from someone who loves musicals (:

(Sunset, just because.)

I was then able to go to the radio station with Brandon - for those who don't know, he does a radio broadcast every Saturday at 2:30. It's a series called "Experiencing God" on Dominion Radio. I was pretty nervous about being on the show, but it was definitely a cool experience. Easy and went by fast and it sure does put the Word out! For more info check out - we're hoping to have past shows archived on there in the next couple of weeks.

Brandon is teaching Wendi and I how to drive a stick shift on the LEFT side of the road. I was pretty excited about that! I miss driving. On my 30th day here Brandon & I went to turn in the information needed to get me a visa, kinda cutting it close since I can only legally be here without one for 30 days. Oops! Wendi's teaching me to cook. She's very patient considering the fact that I'm absolutely clueless. Wendi and I (and Peggy while she's here!) have also been able to do an ab workout a couple times a week with our friend Holly, a student here on the island. Holly's a great (also patient) teacher and we have DEFINITELY been feeling it! We manage to have a lot of fun and bond over our hatred of side planks. Have I mentioned I like the people I live with a lot?

(That was a lotta Wendi, but you get the point!)

I'll leave you with pictures and prayer requests now. Please keep praying that I would be present where I'm present, not worrying about things at home or what's coming up next there. While I love it here, I of course still miss things there, like my parents & my youth group & starbucks ;) Keep praying that Audri & Keaton will warm up to me more and more, as Brad and Peggy leave Saturday and I'll be spending a lot more time with them. They seem to like me a lot, but I'll never fill the void that is Luke & Jamie - miss you guys! Pray for opportunities to minister, always. I want Paul's mindset in Philippians 1 - I serve to advance the gospel. That is my purpose. Thank you all so much for your interest, your thoughts, your prayers, and your faith! I consider myself SO blessed to be where I am. You're all amazing. God is good.
